French to Fern: An enormous beaver dam separates these lakes. The portage is on the east side of the dam and starts from a large stone block slightly offshore. From there, carry the canoe down the creek bed. There is a landing at the end that was fairly swamped due to high water levels.

Short and easy portage with a few rocks.

This was a nice reprieve after the last stretch of portages which had some difficulty. Nothing too bad here.

Small landings on both ends with a few a few boulders to contend with but, otherwise the portage itself is quite short & easy.
