This is a very busy portage, but easy to use and plenty of space. The Newfound side is pretty shallow - we had to walk maybe 30 ft (10m) through the water while pulling the canoe to get to/from the actual landing. We are apparently in a low water situation now though, so maybe that isn't the case all the time.

Taken this portage countless times. Great beginner portage. Short well traveled. Heavy traffic unless you go in late fall

Nice little portage. Good landings. Not all that rewarding to portage back into the motor zone, but the portage was easy.

A quick easy carry. The rapids and entire area that spills out into Newfound Lake is really pretty. It was fun to wade across the "river" and take photos from various different angles. Definitely a very iconic place to start or end a trip, if taking a tow. We spent an hour and a half here waiting for our tow since we were early, and it was time well spent just eating some final snacks and hanging out.

Paddled through. There were two sets of rapids. Both were pretty easy. Got hung up for a second on one rock that we missed avoiding, but easy to go through. After the first set, there is a really cool backwater pool that gives you a good view to plan the second set of rapids. The group being dropped off at the portage probably thought we were nuts, but it was fun and saved us 20 minutes hauling and loading/unloading. I would take it again, and again, and again.

From the Ensign side there were trees guarding the rapids and lining the way to the start of the portage. Real easy portage.

Easy and flat portage, nice landings. Had to wait when we got here from splash as 4 other canoes were unloading.
