Beaverhouse to Cirrus Portage #5132
Thanks: 16 times

Just wondering if anyone has any comments on the ruggedness of the portage from Beaverhouse to Cirrus. Looks like it quite steep on the Beaverhouse side. Canoing with a 10 yr old so not a lot of paddle power up front - looking to avoid crossing Beaverhouse to the Quetico portage to avoid possibility of a strong westerly. Thanks for feedback.

Not bad. Most an old railroad roadbed. Do have a pond in the middle. I would not worry about it but if weather is good and water smooth, I'd paddle BH.
It was a good start for my first solo since getting in and out of the solo was the hardest part. :)

Really - I would not have expected an old railroad bed there. Good to know - thanks.

Logging. Same right of way from parking to put in. A few trestles or piers remained. Fades as you go further.

I've been through here two or three times and would rate this portage as easier than average
