Exciting! Especially now that the ice is finally starting to come off. 23 days until our very first Gunflint-side trip, May 22-26. We are going out of Clearwater, looping down through Pine and up through the Pikes.

You, too! I've never been through the southern entries in the Quetico, just the north ones. I've heard it is gorgeous in the area you will be, so I'm going to have to plan a trip through there someday.

Heading out tommorrow!  Going in through Baker lake EP #39.  Plan is to base camp in the Kelly/Jack area a do day trips (Wench - Cherokee - & Fire lakes) from there.  Right now the forecast looks very encouraging!  Hope it holds up, but we'll make the best of it whatever might come.

Heading out in just a few hours. We were going to be going in at Clearwater and doing a loop through Pine and the Pikes, but plans had to change unexpectedly. Now we are taking the two boys (4 years and 6 months) on their first BWCA trip. We are going to Wood Lake (I was lucky enough to snatch up that permit at the last minute). We're not really sure what to expect, so we are keeping it really easy, simple, and flexible.
