Easy, nice landing. Good place to do some swimming on a hot day and lots of good tent and hammock spots. Definitly worthy of all the good reviews.

Really liked this site! Landing is super easy -- a nice gravel beach. Kitchen area has a nice setup of logs and is spacious with a great view of the lake. Tent spots extend into the woods on either side of the camp, and there were a lot of them. We had two tents and a tarp and everybody got a good spot. Tons of trees allowed for ample hammock & clothesline opportunities. The latter was great due to frequent overnight storms on our trip! Canoe lake is lovely and small, and though we didn't see much traffic on our trip (one night, we were the only people staying on the lake), I imagine it can be a busy place since it's basically one of two main routes out of the E. Bearskin EP and leads to the Johnson Falls point of interest. Swimming was lovely with the easy landing. No real complaints, other than the steep trail up to the bathroom. Well, getting water without getting your feet wet was pretty annoying too.

This was a nice site for us on night one. There's a small beach down by the water and good, open forest to enjoy the afternoon.

Beautiful red pine grove with a few cedars next to the water. Large gravel landing. It is good for swimming, but wear water shoes because there are numerous sharp rocks. The site has an open layout facing south. Large, flat tent pads in pine duff. Some of the tent pads are close to the kitchen, so you may not want to use them. Hammock heaven with all of the red pine trees. There are some nice sitting logs around the kitchen. I would probably rate it 4.5 stars, but I rounded up to 5.

Good protection from the wind, easy landing for the canoe, beautiful sunsets. Many red squirrels who clearly did not approve of our presence, but were great fun to watch! This site makes a good home base for exploring Johnson Falls

Great campsite for a large group. Lots of flat, open space with many large trees for hanging tarps and shade. Three tent pads with two together on the west side and one on the east side. A nice flat, shallow area for landing canoes and a good "beach" (small rocks, not sand). And, there is a creek entering the lake directly across from the site that adds a nice background sound for sleeping.

Decent canoe landing. Great firegrate area with some good log seating. (one with back rest) Several large, flat, pine duff covered tent pads. Latrine not too far away but, still private. Likely there will be alot of traffic passing by on most days.
