Since I added Algonquin a couple of days ago, the databases (campsites, lakes, portages, and entry points) have been very slow. I think it was just data overload - Algonquin had a lot of data, especially lakes. I've "fixed" the lake database, which was the slowest one. Now you have to pick an area to view lakes - you can no longer view all of them together. (This actually may be an improvement over the old way.) Go to the lake database page to try it out. I will be fixing the other databases in the near future.

That being said, unless I completely redesign them, the databases will never really be fast. I never really intended them to be used by people - I added them so search engines like Google could see what data was on the site (search engines can't read the interactive maps). I have tried focusing on the interactive maps and making those the most useful and usable that I can. However, for those that do use the databases, I would like to hear from you, too - how are they working? Any suggestions?
