Thanks Ben. I'm tech savy so I may take a whack at it by comparing with the ones that work. If I figure it out I'll post here, otherwise will wait for you to get back.

It must be the same error I had to fix on the downloads page. It is simple to fix - unfortunately, I am leaving right now for the Quetico and won't be able to fix it until I get back. For the tech savvy, it is just two elements/attributes that need to be switched around in the file. If one is deleted, it works. I can't remember, though, which elements they were. BaseCamp seems to want them in a certain order.

If you have Map Enthusiast or higher, you can download a GPX file of a route with the surrounding campsites and entry points. After you calculate a route, a button is shown at the bottom of the summary page.
If you want a GPX download of all the campsites and portage end points, go to the Downloads page.

I'm not sure if I'll do a "direct transfer" to a Garmin, but I'm planning on making a GPX download, which you could use to transfer to a GPS.

Any chance you could add links like the Geocachers to shoot coords to an attached garmin?
