Does anyone have experience with having your kid as a third person in a canoe, specifically how do you have them sit?  I know when I was young, I mostly sat on a pack, but I'm wondering if there are seats that fit in the middle that others have used.  I know some of you have kids that you've taken, so share the knowledge please.  First year I've been able to take mine so any info would be great.  Thanks!

I have done it both ways. When I was growing up, my dad bought some seats that clipped onto the gunwale. I have my kids sit on a pack. However, the seat is nice to have when you go fishing or don't have the canoe fully loaded. Also kind of depends on whether they are paddling or not.
