I have been the Quetico in August but not September. Is there anything different patterns I need to know about for that time frame.

We've had great success in the fall fishing for smallies with shad raps or other jerk baits. The smallies school up in the fall and more often than not there will be several following the hooked fish. A quick cast behind the fighting fish can often produce a double. Walleyes can be a bit more tricky to find. Focus on narrows or tumbled rock slides that have cobble to basketball size rocks. Lake trout fishing can be incredible if you hit the weather/water temp right. I've had success trolling slow with a spoon or husky jerk. Good luck!
