We normally take a Quetico trip in late August into early September.  However this year we are doing a bit shorter trip in early October.  Any advise for this time of year?  Amount of traffic?  We usually like to go farther in to get away, but since we are only going for six nights this time (and we like to base camp) we were thinking of Louisa or southern Agnes.  We're hoping that by going later in the year we can cancel out some of the traffic that a close location like Louisa would usually get.  Thanks for any feedback!

I answered similar or same question on another board recently but basically its my favorite time! Need to be prepared for snow. Days are short. I never use headlamps in mid season but necessary in October. Easy to take fresh food. Carrying more gear can mean less miles. And rarely see other people. Great time to trip in BWCAW and Quetico.
