Aurora & I day a quick daytrip up to Moose, Newfound, Found & Skull lakes yesterday.  The Fernberg Trail and area is currently a bedazzling sight to behold as a kaleidoscope of autumn plummage is on full & peak display.  It was a bit cool but, the sun was out, further illuminating the already breathtaking scenery.  So invigorating to spend a fall day in the woods with my daughter who topped off the day by pulling a magnificently ornate, chunky trout out of Skull lake.

Thanks for the report and photos! I was in Ely last week for a cross country meet, and the scenery was spectacular. I am thinking about taking a day trip this Friday with a friend. It will be post-peak and a bit chilly, but it should still be fun.
