I have been planning a trip from Cache Bay to Russell Lake. Tried it a few times but never made it. Too many portages to get there and back.

Well this time I figured once your to Russell it is an easy float down the Maligne River to Twin Falls Lac LaCroix. So pony up for a Fly in to Cache Bay and Tow out from Twin Falls would eliminate all the Falls Chains portages on the way out.

Then I got to thinking as long as I am flying all the way to Cache Bay from Crane Lake what about Flying into Clay Lake. That would eliminate 8 Portages and get me into Kawnipi Lake first night.

What I am curious about is does anyone out there have any info about getting from Clay Lake to the Wawiag River and on down to Kawnipi?

Anyone know anything about the Clay Lake Entry?
