Just trying to find out any fishing info about Cherokee lake

According to the DNR (https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/results.html?lake=16052400), there are burbot, lake trout, northern pike, yellow perch, and white sucker. It was last surveyed in 2016. The "Status of the Fishery" report is very detailed - https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/showreport.html?downum=16052400

Sounds like low numbers of lake trout. Northern pike were the other gamefish species sampled, and they appear to be doing well.

I was camped on Cherokee the week they did the survey. It was Sept. 2016. They were dropped off in a float plane and cruised around the lake for 3 days in a canoe with an outboard motor. So much for peace and quiet.
