I've bought a cheap natural wood cutting board, yes, very cheap, only $1. I'd like to know
1. Which kind of food is recommended to be used on a wood board and which kind of food is NOT recommended to be used? 2. When to throw it away? Any sign?

I'd say you could use it for as long as you want for any food. Just wash it with soap and water at least after cutting meat.

Article from Consumer Reports that they wrote in February - https://www.consumerreports.org/cutting-boards/are-plastic-cutting-boards-better-than-wood-a1490710431/ In short, wood and plastic are both safe as long as you take precautions (i.e. clean it). Should replace it when it has deep grooves and scars.

I'd say the same. It seems to me that one board should be enough for a trip if it is not long
