Summer Water Level - Gebe/Pocket Creek
Thanks: 1 times

I'm planning on paddling from Moose/Portage River North to LLC, via Nina Moose>Oyster>Gebe. Do Gebe Creek and Pocket creek hold enough water for an August Paddle? Thanks, OhPaddler

Generally, I would say yes, but at that time of year you might be fighting the lily pads. I did Pocket Creek with no problem, but I think that was June. The turn to Gebe looked fine, but I have seen photos of liy pads completely covering the creek.

I agree with Ben. I had no trouble on Pocket in September 2021 outside of lilypads. But there was enough water to float on through.

A number of years ago we paddled those creeks in a very dry September without issue (other than there were sections that were choked with weeds. Ironically on the same trip we did end up walking up a shallow section on the Moose River. Trip report if you care to read it... Trip Report - Nor'western waters (paddleplanner.com)
