Hey everyone
Actually, I was looking for an affordable and then I got youth wave recently. Now, my concern is to make sure it lasts. Can anyone guide on some methods for cleaning and maintaining it? I've heard rinsing with fresh water after each use is important, but what about using soap or UV protectants? Need some suggestions to help me care my kayak. thanks in advance.

I don't have a kayak, assume it is similiar to a canoe.  Rinsing and keeping clean is a great way to maintain, and in my opinion storage is probably the most important.  If it is outside exposed to the elements it will accelerate wear over time.  Keep it covered and away from sunlight.  I would think a UV protectant wouldn't hurt and is probably a good idea, especially on plastic hulls.

What material? wood, composite, poly, other? Sunlight is indeed the enemy of all of them.

Probably 303 aerospace protectorant for other than wood is worthwhile after a good rinse, if not a wash and rinse. Not each use, but before long term storage.
