This summer, while exploring near Johnson Falls, I stumbled across this incredible cedar tree.  Certainly one of the most awe inspiring things I've seen in canoe country.AMAZING cedar tree

Wow! I've seen white pines this size, but never a cedar. That is impressive.

Colossal cedar tree

We made it back to check out this monster (again) a few weeks ago.

Here's a link to the rest of the story. http://www.paddleplanner.com/tripreports/tripreport.aspx?reportnum=85

It would've great of you had put the GPS coordinates to this picture so other could enjoy the huge tree.

It's just downstream from Johnson Falls (the lower falls), maybe 50-75 yards on the right hand side as you walk with the current (downstream)  right after the river branches.  From there - It should go without saying, you can't miss it.

We are heading this way again in a couple of weeks.  If I think of it, I'll try and take a video from the lower falls to this tree.  Which should definitively show exactly where this colossal tree is located.

This video should definitively show how to locate the big cedar from Lower Johnson Falls.
