I started paddling a few years back. I can safely call myself a good paddler. I will be spending a few weeks in Vancouver next month. I am planning to celebrate Christman and new year in Vancouver this year. Then I thought, why just go for paddling while I am there. I have plenty of time in hand and, there are so many paddling destinations in and around Vancouver. False Creek will be a perfect choice for me I guess. But, I have never paddled during winter. But, I am really excited to do something new, something different. But, before deciding on the adventure, I would like to know you guys opinion on this matter. Have you ever went for paddling during winter? What are the common risks associated with it? Would you recommend going for paddling in False Creek during the month of December? Also, what are the accommodation options available near False Creek? Right now I am thinking of opting for hostel accommodation in Vancouver downtown. Would you like to suggest something else?
