I first visited the BWCAW in 1978, having been asked to chaperone a church youth trip. Since then, there have been many others -- youth trips, trips with the men of our church, family trips, and ones with just my wife and me. We were initially focused on the Ely side, but more and more appreciate the trips we take off of the Gunflint. We go whenever possible, but fall is a favorite, and we try to include a late September trip every year.
