Poor landing (canoes have to be tied in rocky area or hauled up a difficult shore with poor area to put them). Long uphill hike from landing to site. Somewhat open and sunny, but not as nice as “Perch 2”. There are 2 possible tent locations. Fire ring is good. Some OK seating logs and small cooking rocks. Short paddle to trailhead and decent swimming. Nice connecting trail to Perch 2. Latrine is very close, right over a hill with a nice view of a bog.

This site is typical of but slightly better than many Sylvania sites. (I would give it 3.5 stars). The main landing is not very nice, and there's a huge hill to climb to get to the site. There's a small beach really close, and a trail to the site from the beach, so I recommend landing at the beach. The site is large but not flat, and there are a couple good tent pads. You can see the adjoining campsite from this site, and the privy isn't exactly private.
