Fisher is a marvelous lake off the beaten path. Clear water, and lots of nice sized largemouth bass that I saw below the surface (though I was unable to catch a one). This lone campsite hadn’t been used in a while, but made for a cozy home for two days. The woods behind the site were open enough to offer plenty of firewood for scavenging, and there was plenty of open space to work with. Decent hammock trees and tent pads. Only deductions are for the site being on a decent incline toward the water, and though the fire grate provided a great view just the right distance from the water, the wind blew right up into the site while I was there and made for a bit of a chilly day in camp. In the summer, that wind would have been marvelous, but not so much on a 50 degree day in May.

Nice and secluded campsite on a pretty little lake loaded with largemouth bass.
I caught over 30 bass in the time it took for me to paddle from the portage to the campsite.

Small site on a secluded lake. Nice site for one tent. Portage is not to bad, but not an easy landing to load/unload canoes. However, the solitude is amazing.

You won't find more seclusion than this beautiful, dead-end lake. The site sits among pines and has a heavy cover of pine needles. The site is small and little-used and lacks open rock along the shore.
