We liked this site, but it was very trashy when we arrived. Someone had recently left LOTS of trash behind, and worse yet, they had hidden it all over, behind rocks, under trees etc. The only plus to this was the fact that we were running short on vegetable oil, and they had left an entire unopened bottle!

We stopped at this site after battling a strong west wind coming from Malberg. It ended up being a nice site. We easily fit 3 small tents at the site and there were plenty of options for the bear bag. No mosquitos for us, but again, it was pretty windy. There are some large boulders toward the back that add character and could offer shelter in a bad storm. Only caught one small northern from the shore, but we didn't fish aggressively.

The island site to the South is a bit nicer, but this is a decent site. Canoe landings are fine, there is a mix of open rocks and sheltered areas. There are lots of trees for hanging tarps and hammocks. The fire area is up and away from the shoreline farther than I prefer. The biggest drawback was the swarm of mosquitoes every morning and evening.
