My kids called this site the "garbage site"! As first time BWCA'ers they weren't far off. The seagulls and eagles sure like this site as it sits at the outlet of the river and has great access to tons of fish. The whole landing was covered in bones and feces and the area has a definite rank about it. I wouldn't recommend even stopping for lunch. Instead post up on the little island just north for 360 deg views.

Really nice flat grass area for tents. There is a second area just behind the camp that we used for tarps and was pretty sheltered. Fire pit is out on a point, and open to wind from what seemed like all directions. Landing is a little difficult, but good water access from camp. Snapping turtles visited regularly, so they must be fed. We had a group of 8, it rained and was cold and windy every day. The 4 kids had a blast even with the poor weather, and we used this as a base camp. Not a bad site at all.
