Didn't stay or get out onto this site so I don't want to really rate it, but it's worth describing my impression. The site looked small and brushy but it did look like there might have been a recent fire in the grate. Previous review confirms that. It's located at the far south end of the island, just across from the creek coming in from the Fungus Lake PMA to the south. The lake here is marshy and the fire grate is just a few feet above the water, very close to the lake. Hard to see more than one, questionable, hammock hang near the grate, but the island is large enough that I wouldn't be surprised to find a few more up higher, setting up tents would probably require you to stamp down a fair bit of vegetation. The sites on this end of Fishdance seem very rarely used. That's no shame, it's absolutely beautiful and the lack of use doesn't harm this little piece of peace. There's a beaver lodge on the island, east side 'bay' where most maps place the site. We saw several beavers as we paddled this end of the lake.

Despite the other review, this is not the site near the pictographs. There are five sites on Fishdance and one closed (former) site. The three south of the pictographs all see limited use as they are way out of the way and see low traffic and maintenance as a result. We spent the night at this one. It has a nice rock face and a couple tent pads. The only thing special about it is the quiet and a decent view. The site is pretty non-descript with a brushy back on the way to the biff and an overstory of Jack Pine.
