A large open site on the north shore of Ima. A gentle breeze blew through the site the entire time I was there, keeping the mosquitos and flies at bay all day and most of the evening. Aside from the open area around the fire grate, there is also a short path over to another open space with several acceptable tent pads, and one really nice looking one a bit back into the woods. The shoreline varies between large, flat rocks that are essentially at the water line, to a shallow, rocky canoe landing. The flat rocks enter into very deep water immediately, the Voyageur maps show the depth quickly reaching 40 feet. There have been quite a few large, old pines cut down in the last few years, with a few healthy ones still standing in the middle of the site. From my paddle around Ima, I would rate this as one of the best sites on the lake. Highly recommend.

This was a nice big site with great view of Ima lake. plenty of space for tents as well and if you walk some of the trails, you'll find even more tent pads a short walk from the kitchen.

I totally disagree with the other review. While not a 5 start, it is a solid 3. There are several good tent pads, you just have to look. There is a great pad on the western edge for a 2 man and 2 decent ones near the kitchen for 4 man tents. Great views 270 degrees. landing is adequate

Lots of blown-down trees. Site is all dirt, rocks and roots. One tent pad, but it's level. Two landings, both blocked by barely-submerged rocks.
