This was the last campsite on Disappointment Lake we could find. The campsite had an average kitchen as a few mossy Tent pads that were dry, even though the day before it rained. 1 great spot for Hammocks otherwise no good spot for Hammocks.
The bugs were some what annoying once you went far enough back but by the fire and shore we were not bothered to much.
As it being a long day and it being the last Campsite we could find on Disappointment Lake, I was somewhat relieved that this is what the campsite looked like.
I have definitely been on worse Campsites.

Not a great site but it got the job done for our last night in the BWCA when almost every other site on Disappointment was full. We were able to cram in 3 tents and a hammock, the hammock was the hardest with all small trees. Weedy landing, marginal fire area, could be worse but probably our least favorite site of the trip.

Visited this site in late August. Landing was easy enough, but may need to slightly wet-foot it. Fire grate by shore. Large tent pad located in woods, with easily enough spot for two, maybe even three tents, and another small tent pad area slightly separated from it.
Tent pad area is grassy, but rocky below - may be harder to drive tent pegs. Smaller trees - would be a difficult hammock site. Latrine was poorly shielded from the rear of the large tent pad area in late August.
Looks like decent bear bag hanging trees located beyond the latrine in the woods.
Quite a nice site overall. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

After a long day of paddling, this was the only site left on Disappointment. Managed to squeeze in two tents. Not ideal, but I've seen worse. The mosquitoes are most likely terrible since the site sits on a swampy edge of the lake, but, for reasons that still escape me, they were not too bothersome during our stay. A snapping turtle, a beautiful sunrise, and a pair of loons with two (two!) chicks were our reward for surviving the night, which ended up much better than I anticipated.

I was guiding a group when we found a completely full Disappointment Lake. It was a really hard, long day for them since we came all the way from Ima and it was cold and rainy most of the day. Site is pretty awful, swampy site. Tent pads and kitchen are pretty bad. There's a reason why it is the only open site. I probably would have chosen to bear it and stay here, but the group chose to press on. Ended up being a 16 mile day with folks who hadn't been in the BWCA before. Site is pretty bad.

Adjacent to swampy area, which butts right up to landing giving murky, weedy waters. Small site with cramped cooking and tent pad(s). Mosquitoes to turn the back of our hands black had us running for the tent at sundown, on an otherwise mosquitoe-less trip.
