We were making a long push east to west, riding a strong, if not strange, tailwind. We decided it had built too much and we needed a campsite when this gem showed up. It is in a stand of pines that survived Pagami. We were able to setup among the small pine trees to take shelter from the 40 mph gusts. The actual campsite has a neat view over the water from an elevated position and a large gravel beach. The only drawback is it overlooks the burn on the other shore, but even that is coming back pretty nicely. We also found some old cans and artifacts back in the woods.

We stopped at this site on our first night after entry at Lake One instead of heading on to Hudson across the portages. Overall great site, nice and flat community areas, lots of trees, and not too far back to the latrine. Lots of flat space to put up tents. the only knock against it was the trees were all kind of small and hard to find a bear hang that wasn't right in camp.

We had gale force winds as we tried to paddle from Insula back to Lake One. We threw in the towel at 2pm and agreed to look at the first site after the potage. This site was a gem. In a stand of pines, well above the shore, it was comfortable, quiet, with a number of very good tent sites. It was a very comfortable site for the night.

After the Pagami fire, this site was moved to the opposite side of the channel. It's a very nice site, though closed in some. It's not a very big site, but has an awesome landing and camp kitchen.
