It was getting dark after a very long day fighting the winds all the way through Basswood Lake from Moose and Wind Lakes. Our preferred site was taken (the smaller island to the east), so we just took this one as the next closest one along our route. The path up the hill from the landing felt steep, and I don't remember much view. It was also quite buggy, since the site was surrounded by dense vegetation, which blocked any chance for a breeze. It might be a nice place to hide from storms coming from the southwest. We're not planning to come back here again.

1534 was not our first choice, but basswood was busy enough that it was all we could find. Group of 8 with 7 hammocks and one tent. Plenty of hammock trees, but it would have been tight if we needed all tents. pretty close to good fishing spots, and not far from the falls. There was even a nice flat spot to play KanJam

Only 2 of us stayed, but would be ok for bigger groups. You can see the site in the video. Plenty of room. Fishing from this spot was mediocre, but trolling around the island was productive. Made it to Basswood Falls from here.
