I agree with the earlier comments and should have taken that advice. For a change, I camped here overnight in early June and it was buggy, which is really the only downside. Should have stayed at the island about 500 m further west. The best landing is on the south side of the peninsula. On the plus side, it is not burned like all the campsites further west and south, and has a great fire ring. Also great for big groups to spread out with many level tent spots.

If you are looking for a sheltered spot out of bug season, this is an excellent site. But because it's really entirely in the woods, the view is limited and landing was not great, at least from the north side of the peninsula (did not check out the other side). Note that the site is a solid 100m E of the point, in the narrower neck of the peninsula - it was hard to find, but it is there. Going to be buggy in that part of the year. Kitchen/fire ring good, tent pads spread out and quite nice.

We stayed here a couple nights and it was a great site. I put 5 stars on my map but didn't take any other notes...

Large peninsula site, with good views and landings on south and north sides. Tent spots are sheltered in the trees. There is a small sand beach just to the northeast of the site. Good views, especially if you follow the trail to the west end of the peninsula.
