I made this campsite home for one night and was happy to find it. All the other campsites in a 5 km radius are burned up and covered in dead fall. This site is one big flat granite outcrop with some ledges going down to the lake. So tenting is on bare rock, but it works here since most of it is flat. The last fire removed all trees (except for a small cluster along the shore just north of here?) so hanging a kitchen tarp for rainy weather is problematic. I had good weather (ie. calm wind and no rain) so I enjoyed it. One big plus with the last forest fire burning everything down to rock....being able to go for long hikes and not get lost. Climb up the closest hill and enjoy the view. Reminds me of the Arctic barrenlands.
