I've stayed on this site many times over the years. It's very spacious but the trees are slowly dying out and the tent sites in the forest seem to be boggy most years. In 2023 we had dry sites which makes this a "4 star" but I've learned that this is rare.

I think all the other campsites on the lake are burned up and have standing dead trees on them. Unless you camp on the rock to the west where I posted a picture from last year. The tent pads are in a low area and it was soggy wet in all but one of them, and even that one was questionable if there has been any rain. Somebody soiled the tent pad by "going" and just covering it and the TP with a rock, right AT the tent pad next to a log. I covered it up with soil and moss best I could to avoid sleeping with my head only a foot from the mess. Otherwise, probably the best and only site on Wrist.

One of my top 2 sites I stayed at this trip. Has 2 separate fire pit areas, a decent landing, nice open communal area, and tent sites back in the wooded area. Also was told that a Caribou and calf were on the island, but i didn't see them during my stay.
3 stars instead of 4 only because it was tough to find a spot to hang the hammock, except in the woods, and the spruce were all dead, possibly bud worms?
