Was windbound here due to extreme winds out of SE. The landing right at the site is unusable if there are any waves, but the sand beach about 100 feet away is good, and there is a path there. The site itself is pretty nice. We set up 4 tents, and there was room for at least 1 more. Most of the good tent sites are near the fire ring, but there is a very nice one down a path to the north a few feet. We did see a beaver in the pond behind the site. We had no bug problems due to the wind, but expect that bugs could be an issue here. Has a nice fire ring, rock table, seating, and view to the SE. I only gave 3 stars due to landing and bugginess.

Nice campsite with good tree cover. The rock ledge has nice stair steps make for easy access to water. A short path from the campsite leads to a small sand beach that is good for swimming. The water was a bit shallow in August for good fishing from the site. A small beaver pond behind proved to not be a mosquito magnet. We did see a beaver walk from Basswood back to the pond. Kitchen area has a handy stone table.

Nice! Lots of trees down due to the winter storm but we did our best to clean things up. Water was RIGHT up to the firepit due to Basswood being up 5-8 feet and it was glorious. Agree camp table was convenient. The beavers are BACK and were making noise all night. Lots of Eagles and Loons too. Once water recedes looks like nice fishing spots from shore. Latrine is back up and away from camp. Nice trail to to the beaver pond too for serene nature views away from the lake. Bugs were not an issue (was 29 degrees the night we were there in late May) but we think in the high summer mosquitos could be an issue...

Pines with an open feel and a good view. There are two landings. In front of the site is a rock ledge that works well for unloading in calm weather. The ledge is also a great place to sit - just the right height as a seat. The rock ledge is a no-go, though, in wind. In that case, you need to use the muddy creek to the west - and it is muddy. There is a small, sandy beach down the shore. I did not go see if it was good for swimming, though. There is a private beaver pond out back. I believe the beavers moved out a long time ago, but the pond remains. Some people made an effort to upgrade the campsite - built-up stone table and a table lashed to a tree. They should probably be taken down, but they made cooking convenient.
