Nice site! We weathered some heavy rain storms, enjoyed delicious blueberries, and caught fish. The firegrate has a beautiful view of the lake.

Someone made a lot of "improvements" in the campsite. There is a built-up rock "dock" out front, a lean-to fort, and a lashed table. These will probably be dismantled sometime. There is one large, good tent pad and another OK pad. In addition, there are a bunch of other smaller places to put a tent if you are desperate.

I spent 3 nights at this spot with my wife and two kids. We took it after coming up from the South Kawishiwi River and the family was ready to be done for the day. It didn't disappoint! As others mentioned, there are great trees for bear bags and plenty of space for tents. We pitched a large 6 man REI dome tent without any trouble. The kids and I enjoyed being able to explore the many branching paths leading away from this site, including through the campsite to the west (it was empty) all the way to the point. In general, the forest is very open along this shoreline, which made that exploration a lot of fun. The only mild drawback was a bit of a rocky landing. The site the west is probably a little nicer, but I would be happy to stay here again.

We had hoped to find the other higher rated campsites open and available on this lake, but alas. It was okay. The campsite is a little tight in terms of tent pads. There are a number of good trees to hang hammocks on.
Whoever selected the site and installed the latrine for this campsite deserves a raise. The first time I "took the walk", I wandered along the trail through the shadows. Then as I looked up, the sun shone down as if King Arthur had just pulled Excalibur from the stone. The only thing missing was angels singing...and a magazine rack. Now you may want to be intentional about the time of day that you use the latrine because at high noon, the sun heats up the seat to near the melting point. Other than hot crossed buns, the site has a nice view and is quite breezy. Enjoy your "walk".

Nice site. View from fire grate area is good, but you have a moderate climb down to the water. You can easily walk to the campsite to the west in about 5 minutes. Handy for larger groups. Rocky shore - had to unload canoe parallel to shore. No real beach. Good trees for hanging food. Swimming access is fair. Campsite to the west is a much better site.

Better than average site on Clear Lake from what we could tell. Good tree coverage, lake views, fire and kitchen area, and not too many bugs when we were there for two nights.
