The landing is to the south and and grassy or muddy, depending on how much rain there has been. The site is a nice setting in the pines. Nice view of the lake. Decent tent pads.

We snagged this site on Clear Lake as our 3rd choice, but the last remaining site on the lake (besides the island site). The landing site is somewhat protected, but has lots of submerged, sharp rocks, so be careful.
The wind was blowing quite strongly from the west into the campsite, which made building a fire and cooking challenging. When the wind dies down, this was a great campsite. The fire grate is not very well protected from the wind, so I had trouble building a good fire and the smoke was blowing into the campsite constantly. On the plus side, the wind mostly kept the bugs away.
The pit toilet is in pretty good shape with a single crack in the fiberglass. There are some dead pine trees precariously close to two of the tent pad sites, so we chose our tent pad carefully. There is not a great kitchen area, so we did some cooking on a low rock and some on flat rocks by the firepit. There are great trees for a hammock. There is only one sort-of suitable tree with a medium-sized horizontal branch for hanging a bear bag, which seems to be used by most campers given the rub marks.
This was our first BWCA trip, so we are looking forward to enjoying more great camping!

This site was clearly nicer once, but it has seen some wind damage. It just sort of felt rundown and beat up. I can see where it was nice once, but it wasn't a great site when we visited. The landing was rough too. Sunsets are probably very pretty though.

Nice wide open campsite. Landing wasn't perfect but the overall site was really nice. Spent 5 days here for a relaxing base camp.

We called this one "Uncle Brad's Space Camp." This was a really great site. I see that some people have claimed that there aren't many tent pads here and I'm guessing that they didn't take the time to explore the site. there are more than enough tent pads here for a group of 9 people. Great view of the lake from the site and sunsets were amazing here. Plenty of room to explore and try different fishing spots from areas around the site itself. Lots of Pike and walleye!

Very nice site. Great west view for evening sunsets. Nice kitchen area, although the fire pit was a bit congested. Canoe landing is a bit challenging with lots of shallow rocks. Swimming is OK, but rocky. Good site for a base camp and for larger groups.
