Stopped here for lunch on a day trip from our base camp. Nice sandy beach landing. Amazing swans, geese, and ducks in the bay out front. Campsite is tucked back in the woods, and sheltered.

Pretty open site here with trees around, but not many close enough to hang a good tarp. Nice sandy beach out front with plenty of good fishing spots nearby to the south. If there are other options I would recommend seeking out a different campsite on the lake. Called this one "Camp Piss Rock."

While the beach is an attracive feature of this campsite, the lack of shade, tarp/hammock hanging options, and litterally no discernable way to the toilet make it no better than 2 stars. Finding a good tent pad is also tricky. This would be a bail out site at best.

Sand beach landing! Low lying campsite, fire area is in the trees, so limited view from campfire. Tarp a little tricky to hang near fire, but good tent pads. I hung my hammock on the shore/tree line with nice view of the water. Bald eagles were viewed both days we stayed there. Negatives are shallow water, so pumping water required a paddle out to deeper water. The site would probably be bad during buggy season, but was fine in September. I'll take the elevated, rocky campsites over this sandy beach, but would be good for kids! Fishing was good on Bald Eagle, and daytripped to Gull and Pietro

The most dominant feature of this site is the sand beach. When we visited it was high water, and there was still a lot of beach to play on. In low water, there would be even more sand in front of the site. The site is secluded and doesn't see nearly as much traffic as the other campsites on the lake. The kitchen and tent pad area are completely surrounded by trees and are very well protected. However, this also means there isn't much of a view from the kitchen. There are lots of places to put tents in the clearing. The number you can fit in depends on the size of the tents. The bay the site is in is shallow, but there is good fishing around the small island to the east. If you like hammer-handle northerns (kids do), there are plenty in Bald Eagle Creek to the south. This is a perfect site if you have kids along.
