Great campsite that hit the spot after a long 12 miles of paddling in from Island River. Nice tent pad back in the trees and plenty more to choose from if a larger group. Latrine is a nice ways back from the main area and tent pads. Kitchen area was well rocked and landing was easy. Great western view with a beautiful sunset.

I was here during a high water period and the landing was as good as it gets; a sheltered back side parking garage - although I expect that will change somewhat as the water recedes. Some really excellent tent pads (plenty of room for larger groups) and the majestic white pine standing guard near the tip of the point really give this one a nice feel. While the kitchen area is stellar it is rather tight and larger groups may find that they would be "bumping elbows" too frequently for optimal enjoyment. Still you could do a lot worse.

The first thing I noticed while paddling up to the campsite was the majestic white pine dominating the kitchen. That and the huge pile of stones marking the fire grate. The landing was good - shallow, slightly muddy area that would make it easy to unload. The view from the kitchen is great. There are two great tent pads. There are other openings in the woods around the site that you could put more tents. Some of the potential tent pads, though, looked a little low and might be wet if it were raining. Trails lead off from the campsite to the peninsula to the north.
