Very nice campsite, our favorite of the trip. Canoe landing is a nice gravel inlet. The fire grate has excellent benches and is elevated, yet protected by sitting slightly lower than the cliff edge. We had a headwind at this site and it never bothered us back there. Great view of the lake, the camping area is a needle floor with lots of small red pines. It is shaded, protected from wind and pleasant. The latrine is somewhat visible from the main camp. The best feature, of course is the perfect sand beach, the best I've seen in the BWCA with good swimming. The worst aspect of this site in our opinion is that in directly faces the site across the bay, unusual for a BWCA site.

Very nice site. On a rock above the lake with a sand landing area on both sides. We had a nice breeze that kept bugs to a minimum. There is a lot of deadfall trees but its easy to walk abound the island. There is a nice fire grate area. Great sunset view. We caught a few fish from shore.

We chose the site across the bay over this one. It gets a stiff breeze from the west which keeps the bug to almost zero. The beach is nicer than any I've seen in the BWCA. There is also a landing south of the cooking area, which sits atop a cliff. There is a pretty comfortable couch made of logs at the fire pit. The area is park-like with lots of young red pines. The tent pads are numerous and sandy. The latrine is typical. As with all the sites in this area it sees heavy use and we picked up a lot of trash here.

What a great site! The kitchen sits up high with a great view, including sunset. There is a small sandy beach in a little bay protected from the wind that makes swimming and loading the boat a dream. The island has trails to explore, and so much firewood, in no small part to a blow down that must have happened in 2016 or early 2017. Great seating with a back rest has a nice breeze off the lake. The area out in front of the kitchen is one big rock, but the tent pads are softened with sand and pine needles. with excellent drainage.

Pros: * A beautiful site, full of Red Pine. Many options for hammocking, good options for setting a tarp directly over a slab of rock to keep gear clean and dry. * The water was very high when we arrived, so not sure what the landing is like in regular conditions but there was a perfect miniature bay to pull into and fairly easily step into camp. * Fire grate area is excellent. A decent log bench corral and beautiful view of the lake. * There's plenty of space to do some hiking around the island, including some great lookout rocks. * One of my favorite views from a latrine in the BWCA! Cons: * Lots of downed trees, must have been a pretty big blowdown on that side of the island. Still plenty of tree cover, though. * We didn't catch any fish from the site, but it's a very short paddle to amazing fishing in Tiger Bay. * We could hear the occasional speed boat from the Canadian side of LLC. All in all, one of the best sites in the Boulder Bay/Tiger Bay area (maybe the whole BWCA?!)

This site is my new favorite in the BWCA. Sandy Beach, Rocky Ledge point that the fire pit sits on 20' up. The Rock ledge is only a few feet deep so you can not jump off of it. It's like a red pine park. Lots of hammock options. There is a trail that goes around the island. Rock live well for your fish. A second landing with more rocks to th south of the site. The only thing it lacks is a view of the sunrise. But a quick walk over the hill on the island and you are there for that. ;-)

Possibly my favorite site in the BW. Open pine woods, beaches, great landings & views, good tarping options.
