Very nice campsite. Sandy in campsite though in areas. Some sand in the swimming area but not really. Main down side is swimming tends to be shallow and small rocks to work out to get deep enough to really swim. Site is huge. Grumper is a nice nature hike back and is in a beautiful pine grove. Would camp at this site again. Did have a good hanging tree. You just need something you can make the throw that high with. Fishing from campsite was not good for me.

Expansive campsite with many large tent pad options. Fairly flat; good fishing nearby. Watch out for snapping turtles.
Could easily accommodate a group of up to 9 easily.
Stunning views of the bay!

Really enjoyed this site. The pickings for nice sites way up here are good. Truthfully, we explored several sites and all would have been 4ish star caliber. With that said, this site offers ample tent space for larger tents, 3 levels to the site (landing level, camping level and tenting level). Fishing was fair and the west facing site offers great sunsets. Only drawback is the distance and number of portages to travel this far north. Did it in one day, will do it in two if we come back to this area again. BONUS: you are a short distance from rock paintings and you can see Canada across the lake. DRAWBACK: You can see Canada across the lake:-)
