This site is small and very sloping. The other sites close by are better.

Beautiful views with big pines abound.
Not sure if it was just the time of year we went, but oddly, every evening after a certain time & every morning, the lake was absolutely still as glass. Then a lovely breeze would come through in the day. Didn’t see or hear many loons until our last night.
Also not sure if it’s the elevation we were on, or just being near a “bay” but we were seemingly protected from storms that would roll around/skip us.
As you can see from the map, the site is hilly. You’ll be walking up relatively steep hills when you arrive to get to the campsite, then to the latrine, and any time you go down to the water it’ll be downhill. But that’s how you get the amazing views right?
We really enjoyed the campsite. Only downside is being able to see several other campsites and being so close to the one to the Southwest. (But you can tell from the map that would be the case so we expected it).
When you arrive, go to the southwest side of the site to land - you’ll be on a nice sandy, hard bottom part of the lake. Otherwise, the rocks are very slippery.
Related- we used a filter for our water which would clog after only one day of use- I did read somewhere that iron in the water will cause that (the water is pretty brown when looking at it straight down- you can’t see the bottom unless it’s 3-6” or less. But there’s no irony taste of the water. It could be that the lack of depth in the lake made it difficult to grab water with no sediment.)
Anyway, not a bad site! Next time, we would plan to head into Agnes for a wider variety of campsites, depth of the lake, etc. But we were only there for 3 nights/2 full days so it seemed to make sense to stay @ Nina Moose.
