Probably the best site on Nina Moose. The best spot to land is just south of the bedrock point that extends like a ramp to the east. It's shallow but manageable. There's a giant white pine right on the shore. The cooking area is lovely with a big stone table and lots of seating. Most of the site is flat and grassy. There's not much shelter but the cooking area is shaded in the late afternoon. The sole good tent pad is very flat and sandy, and right next to the fire pit. The latrine is uncomfortably close to the cooking area. Behind the site are many big slabs of exposed bedrock with a patchwork of trails among them. There is no good spot to swim since everywhere is weedy, but at the tip of the point you can walk in and wash up to about chest height before the weeds start. The algae makes it a challenge to get out. We did not trust the water near shore to drink it (there's a beaver lodge just to the south and a lot of animal droppings on the point) so we paddled out to the center of the lake for water. Really Nina Moose Lake is like an airport hotel, people only stay there because they have to and for its convenience. Not a lot to see or do here, though it would be a wonderful little lake if it was 20 feet deeper.

One of the better sites for folks who are getting ready to leave via Nina Moose River (our second choice). It has one of the best benches/tables, and a nice big rock for fishing, but that's about it. There is no shelter, no view of the sunset. The slippery landing is difficult even in still water (not as bad as some on this lake, though). The latrine is both close enough not to offer much privacy, but also enclosed enough so there is no breeze to give relief from bugs. We did get to see a snapping turtle lay its eggs. Also, a chipmunk jumped into our food pack and couldn't get itself out again. We had to tip the pack over to shoo it away. They have clearly learned the source of food. We later heard that there was a problem bear at the camp site to the north, but we didn't see any sign of it.

I agree with everything the previous post said. Minus the minks. There is truly only one really good tent pad. My daughter and I made due with another that had a slight uphill slope and a couple small ruts to deal with. One other man in our group was able to put up his small tent on a slight slope as well and able to situate it so that there was no rocks or ruts under the portion of the tent where he was laying. Overall, it's actually a pretty cool site with a nice lake view and kitchen area. I'd probable rate it a 3.7ish, but for the sake of 5 round numbers, I'll boost it to a 4 star.
Great base camp for a 1 tent and/or 1 hammock group. Anything larger, I'd recommend just an overnight due to sleeping arrangements.

This is a great site for a group of one canoe. One super tent site, one super hammock site, and a great kitchen. canoe landing is a little rough, but manageable. Sighted both a family a minks and a beaver during our visit (see pictures)

Very tough landing while we were there. Slippery rocks. Might be better dry. Only one good tent pad with room for 2-3 more tents close together. Nice view from the fire pit. Neat rock table/seat.
