Great site with many prime BWCA qualities. Commanding view of Stuart Lake from the kitchen area. Miniature canoe "harbor" for landing area that is flat and smooth during late season water levels. Ample space to accommodate a large group (we had 8 with 3 canoes). Plenty of solitude on Stuart, even during peak paddling season, as the long portage from the EP scares many folks away. Great sunset and sunrise views. If this space offered good shore fishing, it may be my favorite in the BWCA.

This is a beautiful site on a long, rocky point that juts out to the southwest. everything has a commanding view of the lake atop an 8-foot cliff and the site catches a good breeze. Many bedrock ledges slope down to the lake and are fun to sit on, but the water is shallow so don't jump off anywhere. To the west-northwest of the point is the best spot for swimming, the water gets deep pretty quick. Beware there are many large boulders below and around the cliff. There is no shade or any way to hang a tarp in the cooking area but the one good tent pad (a very, very good tent pad) overlooks the lake and is shady. Latrine is in good shape and is a good ways back in the woods, but still catches some wind. There are many good hammock spots in the open forest north of the site. There are lots of blueberries and chokecherries to be had here as well. Firewood is abundant since not many people stop here. As mentioned above the water is very shallow all around but there's a little canoe harbor where it's easy to lad and unload without scraping bottom. Not much luck fishing from shore here. A wonderful site for a one-tent group but don't stay here if you have more.

Nice site - great sunsets and breezes to keep the bugs away or you landlocked if windy enough!

Not a lot of tent pads, but we found room for our hammocks. Lovely little rock landing jutting out into the lake. Open area for cooking, fires, etc.
