Agree with 2016 review. The site is in a small channel that is really a muck hole. We also went out into the lake to get water.
Our outfitter said "don't say here for any reason" We agree, but Iron sites were all full but this one. So we stayed one night.
The site is little used and we were welcomed by a pile of bear crap in the center of camp.

Maybe a campsite that shouldn't be a campsite. Positive points are that you feel very secluded in this corner of Iron Lake, the campsite was not worn down, well protected from west wind. Negatives are view from the fire area, small pad even with 2 man tent, no good area for tarp, and the worst was that the site is in a shallow mucky bay, no swimming, no fishing, and i paddled out to the main lake to get water for any purpose. I suppose if you wanted a place to hide away and read a good book for a few days it would work. I was tired and just needed a place to crash, and it worked well enough for one night.
