The entire time we stay at this site, we didn't see another human being. We had Friday all to ourselves. That's solitude! The kitchen area has no natural shade, but there are trees and bushes that let us rig up a tarp, which helped with both rain and sun during our stay. There is one very nice tent pad back and to the left in a tiny clearing with lots of shade except during the exact middle of the day. There is also room under the cedars, but it was very damp back there during our stay. The rock slopes very gently down to the water, which could make it tricky to load or unload. We got lucky, though, and didn't have too much difficulty. The swimming was easy off some flat rocks off to one side. There were no trees that had big enough side branches to support our food pack, so we had to rig up a double-suspension system. Luckily, we had pullies and Kevlar line with us. There is a path around the side of the island to place with a nice view of the sunset, and in the other direction to another large rock face (for fishing?). The big rock slope in front of the site let us dry things out nicely, and the cedars provided ample shade for the hammock. If there are storms rolling in from the south, you might want to consider a different site, due to the exposure in that direction.

This site can be seen from the south tip of Friday Bay. It has a commanding 180 degree view of the bay. The kitchen area is in the open but partially protected by a few trees against all but strong winds from the SW. The large rock landing warms up nicely on cooler mornings. The landing can be a bit tricky with moderate to strong southern winds driving waves against the rocks. The kitchen area is nicely set up. There are 3 areas, all pretty flat, where tents can be set up, one behind the kitchen and the other 2 areas off to the left facing in towards the island. This is overall a great site.

We loved this site. Big difference between the shade and the firepit on a hot day. Landing can be slippery but its an awesome site

Decent site. Not a great take out with shallow shelf rock out a ways. Two good tent pads, one not good. Good kitchen set-up. Buggy if not a south wind.

I have visited many sites on the Mudro Crooked Loop, and I was very impressed with this site. Especially if you have a bigger group. The tent pads were great, the firepit was great, the landing is great. There is good swimming off the island. There is good fishing all around the island. I was shocked this was rated as low as it is. I checked out a few 5 star spots and I think this one is even better.

Landing proved to be a little treacherous in rough water. Fire grate is very exposed with no readily apparent tarp options nearby. Several large, top notch tent pads located in an enchanting grove of cedar trees which is also a great spot to hang a hammock. Trails run around the island, and there is a nice sandy beach (that can be hiked to)in the NW corner of the island.

Good site. Rock slab landing is easy and good to swim off, fire grate and kitchen area is in the open with a view down Friday bay but you can slip into shade in the grove of cedars right behind. Plenty of places for tents.
