One of my all time favorite campsites in the BWCA. It has a number of nice white pines, including one that provides shade over the fire grate. The fire grate faces a narrows between another island. Very quiet site with no one paddling by. Great access to firewood (mainland to the SE). Good walleye fishing west of the island. The site does not feel worn and abused with few stumps or random green firewood lying around. It may be tough to fit a large party with many tents.

This site holds a special place in our hearts, as it's where we got engaged back in 2003. The water level was much higher this year, so the rock where I proposed is underwater. There is excellent shelter at this site (the kitchen is a little sunny in the morning), but not so enclosed as to preclude a breeze. There is a nice fog across the channel on cool mornings. This area gets very little traffic, and the site itself is off to the side from the channel, so quite private. The islands around here are a lot of fun to explore. The car relic is not far to the north. We found it in 2022. The next site to the west has a more spectacular view, but this site has more shelter from sun and storms, and an easier landing. The island is covered in blueberries in July. Check out the paths around the entire island.

Open sloping rock shelf landing with a few shoreline boulders. Decent fire grate that faces the water. Log seating is adequate but, is beginning to become dilapidated. Camp is well sheltered and situated so the usual large volume of daily traffic doesn't need to pass right in front of the site. OK swimming option, close to good fishing and the old Buick is in the narrows just to the NE on the Canadian side.
