The landing is narrow because large rocks block all but one nose-in spot. Canoes have to be lugged up to tiny clearing that is entirely occupied by kitchen and tent pads. The grate and one log seating is located close to the water and is exposed to north winds. Only one good tent pad, as the others are excessively slanted. The latrine is a long hike away. The other site on Newton is much better, so the best use for this one is if you are running late getting to Pipestone Bay or if you are targeting Newton for fishing.

We were looking for a campsite after a long, hot day of paddling, but we weren't desperate enough to stay here. There is no shade over the kitchen and no seating. The landing was nice enough. Very limited tent pad options.

Good last stop site on your way out or a short stay. Lots of spots for 2-3 person tens but limited for larger. No seating or set-up for kitchen area to work with. Latrine is the path straight into the woods from the water. Beautiful west view for sunsets. We had good bass fishing at the base of the Pipestone Falls.

Fairly small site. It has a good, sand landing. Most of the traffic passes on the far side of the island, so it is a little quieter than some of the other sites in the area.

We stopped at this campsite for lunch on a day trip of Newton Lake. Never did find the latrine as there were many trails leading into woods out of the campsite. Nice place to watch all the canoe traffic heading into and out of Newton Lake. Wild rice located off shore and into bay had a number of waterfowl.
