Very unique and wonderful site. The view looking north at the winding Indian Sioux River is excellent, and the falls are nice too. I watched a thunderstorm roll in for an hour, comfortable knowing that there are multiple protected tent pads. The walk north for water is short so that's no issue, but you probably will see a couple people pass through.

Nice wide open site with a great view of the falls. You'll hear the falls from your tent. High up on a rock overlook. You'll have to walk a little ways to get water.

Never camped here, but we checked it out just to see the cascades. I would think it wouldn't be too private just off the portage. It is a long way to get water so plan ahead. There is no water view so it doesn't seem like you are in the BWCAW.

Stayed here while attempting the Sioux Hustler loop...didn't happen. The trail is very rustic which slowed our pace down to 1.25mph average with stops. This was our first night. Not a lot of options for food bags... A billy goat hike down to the river for water.

Beautiful view of Devil's Cascade. It is in the middle of a portage where the Sioux-Hustler hiking trail intersects the portage. Water access would be a problem. Since this is one of the few campsites along the hiking trail, I would leave it to the hikers.

This is a beautiful site quite high above the river and the rapids down below. Over 100 feet. The cliffs are steep but not totally sheer. So far away from the river makes it feel like it's not a Boundary Waters campsite. But it is nice. We had no visitors, but it's easy to see how there could be a lot.
Fairly spacious -- it'd be easy to fit several tents here.
The toilet is across the portgage trail and up the backpacker trail and off to the right. Not easy to find, but it's there.

This is an excellent site, we had four tents and two hammocks and could have doubled our group size. The view and the white noise is awesome. The only two negatives are the walk for water (not long and steep) and the constant stream of guests who are here to look at the Devil's Cascade. The map shows this right at the river which is VERY deceptive. The site is above Devil's Cascade, 3/4 of the way north through the portage.

Unique campsite along Devil's Cascade. Plenty of flat area for tents and trees for hanging a few hammocks. Well within earshot of the roaring water and has a gorgeous elevated view of the geography north. As mentioned, the big disadvantage is the extreme drop to gather water or the hike down the trail to the northern portage entrance to gather water.

Nice flat spot on a small cliff down to the river. Beautiful area, only disadvantage is the steep hike to get water.
