Very nice, very large, and very open campsite. We took our chances that this site would be open. After a 14 mile paddle from the far west side of Knife it was either this or make the portage into Ester. Do be aware there are no other campsites nearby. As you enter from the west you do need to come around the point to find the good landing. I truly don't understand the other tend pad ratings other people have given. We had a group of 9 with 5 tents and everyone got a great spot. There is room to put more tents here than any crew would reasonably take on a trip. The fire pit is open and elevated. You'd struggle to put a fly up directly over the grate but there are ample trees for a rain fly elsewhere. The site itself offers great views but if you climb up the hill at the back of camp you can get a decent view through the trees too. Good swimming right off the landing. Friendly mouse and chipmunk visited us. The toilet is plastic and has a lid! Would have loved to stay a second night but we needed to move on.

Great spot. Great view, and great lake. Good fishing from the site. Highly recommend the trails going up to the top with a magnificent view.

Decent landing. Site is on a peninsula and provides good views in multiple directions. There is also some deep water just off shore and there is a good spot for jumping/swimming just behind camp. It's a fair distance to another BWCA camp. Benny Ambrose's cabin remains are just a short paddle away.

Was looking forward to this site as its one of the few on the American side of Ottertrack but it was taken. Did a slow canoe by to check it out. It looked heavily used, muddy trampled ground. It would though have a nice view, great for groups and great private location. Seemed like a busy hard to get site.

Stayed twice at this site. Our first visit was in 2015 and was our favorite site of the trip. The second visit was in 2016 and we didn't care for it as much. The site provides great views of the cliffs on the north side of the lake and spectacular sunsets. There's a large population of chipmunks and squirrels that aren't shy about trying to get into your food bags. Fairly easy landing on the northeast side of the site, but the ground is quite rocky. When we visited in 2016 the latrine was full.

Nice pads and elevated kitchen, one pad is under significant tree cover, great cliffs off the back porch
