We liked the site well enough. It's probably the nicest the sites in this section of Ottertrack. The take-out was challenging, even with the very low water level. It helped that the rocks were very dry. We found the other camp site to the south via a distinct trail that continues to the portage; they all connect, not that I'd recommend taking any heavy gear along the path, as it climbs up and over ridges along the way. The view of the stars from the point would have been spectacular, but the smoke was blocking a lot of light for us. There was plenty of shelter from a couple huge trees over the main camp area.

Tent pads are small but level, at first blush it's not that great a looking site but we liked it well enough once we got settled in. Warning - a previous traveler commented on the landing be slippery. This is no joke - landing is deceptively, dangerously slippery. Be careful. It's hard to tell - we certainly couldn't, whether there are two sites right next to each other as the maps indicate, or if the southern site of the two no longer exists, or what. We looked hard and only found one landing, one fire grate, and one biffy. We're still perplexed on this. So don't expect two sites here as it appears there is only one. If anyone posts after this to state we're incorrect (blind?), do by all means do so. Until/unless, don't count on two sites here.

Stopped here for a lunch break. This site looks to be used quite a lot. It is very large, but seems to lack level tent pads. It would be great for a group of hammock campers. The landing was very slippery. It is close to another campsite and is along thoroughfare, so privacy isn't the best. The fire pit was in shambles when we stopped by. The view NE is top notch.

Very nice site. Fantastic view to the east down Ottertrack Lake. Rocky point out front. A large sloping rock area to the south of the firegrate. A shaded wooded tent area to the north of the firegrate. The canoe landing area is very slippery use care. North of the firegrate along the shore is a nice narrow point to hang a hammock on and access to fish the north channel from shore. One of my favorite sites in the BWCA.
