As of 2024, “Tumblehome Island” is easily the worst site on the lake. Something wicked has happened to this site. It used to be okay but it has fallen into a sad state of disrepair. Poor fire grate, no hammock trees, and awful tent pads. Mosquitoes are atrocious. Don’t even bother coming all the way over. Skip it and try elsewhere. You’ll thank me later. Plus, it’s haunted by a ghost, and not the good kind.

It lacks a little bit.. But it's honestly my favorite on the lake. I strong dislike the NW'ern site, and the others get traffic. This is easily the winner for me. Fishable shoreines, cliff hiking, great scenic paddling. nice fire pit. tent pads have slight slopes. .

I really like the campsite, but there are not many places to put a tent. The site is sitting above the water and has a great view on a quiet part of the lake. There is a cliff face to the left that offers some good scenery. There is one OK tent pad with two possible others if you don't mind setting up on solid rock. There are good spots for hammocks. The landing is somewhat difficult - small and rocky.

Although exposed, the main camp area is quite nice but, the landing was an accident waiting to happen with a fallen tree in the water. Also, the best tent pad is just a few feet from the firegrate. There are a couple other small ones but one is hidden off a lightly traveled spur trail on the way to the latrine. This is certainly the most private site on the lake and provides a very picturesque view of the back bay and surrounding area.

Reasonable site. Fairly small, but it seems to be in its own part of the lake which is really cool. Great for small groups.

Nice looking site. Not a great place to set up tents. There is grass around the fire grate, but I worried about embers blowing onto my tent. The rock behind the fire grate is pretty cool. Like most small island sites, firewood was sparse. Overall we enjoyed this site on a great lake.

A nice island site, but heavily used! The latrine was quite full. We endured a lighting/rain storm that moved in pretty fast, so we had difficulty finding a place to hang our food. There is a small landing off to the side that is nice to pull the canoe up, but it can be easily missed, because there is a lot of large rock.

Sits up high and looks like a nice campsite from the water. Very exposed, opened and well used. Fire grate totally in the sun surrounded by grass with no trees nearby for a tarp. The live trees in the back are hacked up and unsightly. After sitting out a lightening storm I relocated to another campsite on the lake the following day for better protection.
