BWCA Campsite 208 on Trout

This is a good campsite if wind prevents accessibility to other sites. The landing is fairly rocky and difficult to land in the wind. The view of the sunset is beautiful, but trees somewhat block the view. This area of the lake was very quiet and we didn’t see any other people. The fire gate is still facing the trees instead of the lake. This is probably not the ideal campsite, but it is sufficient in many ways.

Landing is not great, especially in the wind. My canoe kept getting smashed against the rocks. The campsite is a red pine grove, which I normally like. However, this one just did not seem to do it for me. The view is OK. The fire grate is facing the woods instead of the lake. The trees semi-protect from the wind, but also semi-block the view. I found two good tent pads, but you might be able to find space for more.
